I decided to go on youtube last night - probably about the same time or just before DFWMalibu posted that comment - thanksĪfter seeing the Lope of the Extreme 268 - I decided to go a diffrent route. I know it also has 150 compression in all 8 cylinders according to the build sheet from the machine shop that rebuilt my motor.

I came up with 9.5:1 cause it is a 260HP Boat engine - 1975 chevy 350 Block that is bored. I do know the Heads have Stainless steel Valves which has no performance value LOL When I take the Valve covers off I will get the casting # and get you guys what Heads i will be running. Guys, Thanks for all the info and help you guys have tried to give me or a similar spec.'d Comp Cam or other brand of your choice. another good choice, for more money, is a Lunati VooDoo #60101 213/219. it will do as much or more than stock heads, work better with your stall converter, rear end, intake, and carb. If you have stock heads as mentioned, and are NOT planning to upgrade any other things, I would suggest a Summit #1103 cam at 214/224. will work till you get around to upgrades. It's a good cam, and the engine will run and drive OK, with weak low end, and not able to do the high end. also, agree, converter a bit low stall RPMs.

that cam wants to HP peak around 6,000 RPMs with 425 - 450 HP. that EE 268H cam is a bit too big if running stock heads with 1.94"/1.5" valves. I just want to make sure I dont make a mistake and have to buy more parts to make this cam work in my car.Īlso any info on tools to replace the valve springs without removing the heads would be greatly appreciatted as well - I will / have done some searching but want to use something that someone else has used and proven it works without issues. I was told the idle was descent but has alot of power

I am looking for as much Info on this cam Xtreme Energy XE268H Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft & Lifter Kitĭuration Advertised: 268° Intake / 280° Exhaustĭuration.

He said I should do the Xtreme Energy 268 Cam Told him I wanted a street and strip car and then gave him the info needed - Chevy 350 Small Block, weighs 3500 lbs, 1900 to 2200 stall converter, stock 9.5:1 compression internals, Edelbrock Performer Dual Plane Intake, Edelbrock 600 CFM Carb, Turbo 350 with a shift kit and 3.73 gears with Posi. I told him I was looking at the High Energy 268H - Lift. I have looked at a few cam's and for the life of me couldnt figure out exactly what I need or want without hurting the performance of the car so I called Comp Cams support today for help
